Anaemia is an ordinary term when you are suffering from CKD (chronic kidney disease). Anaemia occurs when there is an insufficient supply of red blood cells. Your kidneys don’t create a sufficient supply of EPO (erythropoietin), a hormone, when you are suffering from CKD. What does a kidney stone look like can be accessed here. Your body requires this hormone to create red blood cells. Iron is also required by your body to be able to create red blood cells.
With an insufficient supply of iron or EPO, lesser red blood cells are made and anaemia sets in. When suffering from CKD, anaemia can occur before the event of kidney failure, which is commonly find in patients on dialysis treatment.
